Thami Nxumalo has been at VUM from the beginning. He has worked in underwriting and claims. He has applied his exceptional mind to Taxi Claims and has consequently risen to become the claims manager.
Thami hails from Nongoma in northern KwaZulu Natal. He still has strong ties to his community and visits Nongoma often. In his spare time, Thami is active in his church, enjoys reading and studying and supports the Mamelodi Sundowns (which nobody at VUM can understand). Remote Jamming
Remote Jamming is an increasingly common phenomenon in which criminals block a vehicle’s locking function as the driver is walking away. After this, thieves will steal items from the car. Thefts that happen in this manner will not be covered by VUM as there is no evidence of forcible entry to the vehicle. Please make your clients aware of this risk, especially if they have cover under Business All Risks, Goods in Transport or Electronic Equipment with the Extended Theft extension taken on our AssetSure policy.
We Are Durban Bucket Drop
VUM is very proud to sponsor We Are Durban Social Upliftment. We Are Durban is a registered NPO that supports and empowers various charity organisations in and around Durban.
In December, We Are Durban supported the Olive Tree Church in collecting and distributing 350 buckets or food and school stationery to households that really need it. Above is one such household from the Wangu community on the North Coast of KZN. These families are so precious and deserve the best that we have to give them.
